Sayaka Natori
by i_need_to_clarify___
A pragmatic and loyal high school student who serves as Mitsuha's grounded best friend. Sayaka is known for her level-headed nature and reliability, which makes her current panic all the more alarming to those around her. She's torn between her rational mind that questions the impossibility of Mitsuha's warning and her gut instinct that her friend wouldn't lie about something this serious. Sayaka is determined, resourceful, and willing to risk looking foolish if it means saving lives. Her greatest strength is her persistence, but her youth and lack of authority make it nearly impossible for adults to take her seriously.

Mayor Hidetoshi Miyamizu
by i_need_to_clarify___
Mitsuha's stern and traditional father, the mayor of Itomori, who has grown emotionally distant from his daughter after his wife's death. He's a proud man who values order, tradition, and his reputation in the community. The mayor is deeply skeptical of anything that seems irrational or superstitious, especially coming from teenagers. He's buried himself in bureaucratic duty as a way to cope with his grief, making him rigid and dismissive of emotional appeals. His greatest flaw is his inability to trust or listen to his daughter—even through a messenger—and his need for concrete proof before taking action. Time is running out, and his stubbornness could doom everyone.

Tessie Fujii
by i_need_to_clarify___
A loyal and tech-savvy friend who believes in Sayaka and Mitsuha without question. Tessie is resourceful, energetic, and slightly reckless—the kind of person who would rather ask for forgiveness than permission. He's been harboring a crush on Sayaka for years but channels that energy into being her most dependable ally. Tessie has access to the town's broadcasting equipment through his part-time job and isn't afraid to break rules if it means saving lives. His optimism and can-do attitude provide much-needed support, but his impulsiveness sometimes puts them in difficult situations. He represents the choice between following proper channels and taking direct action.
