Characters

Rei Usagiyama
by cmdcypher
Younger sister of Rumi Usagiyama, Rei inherited the mutation aspects of the Rabbit quirk, but not the strength. Instead of going into hero work, Rei pursued a career in business management and became known for her ability to bring order to a chaotic business system. Rei and Rumi are very close, though Rumi makes it a point to try not to overshadow Rei's accomplishments with her hero status. Rei has just been hired on at Dynamight's agency- the recent growth in the agency and need for restructuring.

Kenji Ito
by cmdcypher
A quiet and mysterious first-year with a Shadow Step quirk that allows him to teleport short distances through shadows and darkness. Kenji is intensely private about his background, rarely sharing personal information and often disappearing between classes. He has exceptional tactical intelligence and observation skills, noticing details others miss, which makes him invaluable during team exercises despite his reluctance to socialize. His quirk works best in low-light conditions, making him particularly effective in night operations and indoor combat. He initially keeps his distance from other first-years but slowly warms up to the group, particularly appreciating Yuki's respect for his boundaries. There are rumors he's connected to an underground hero agency that specializes in stealth operations.

Ryo Matsuda
by cmdcypher
An energetic and competitive first-year with a Momentum quirk that lets him absorb and redirect kinetic energy, making him faster and stronger the more he moves. Ryo grew up watching pro heroes and has an almost obsessive knowledge of hero statistics, rankings, and fighting styles. He's loud, friendly, and has zero sense of personal space, often getting too excited during training and accidentally using his quirk. He immediately tried to befriend all the upperclassmen, especially the Bakusquad, and sees them as the benchmark he needs to surpass. He has a friendly rivalry brewing with Aya since they're both close-combat types, constantly challenging her to sparring matches.

Ralph
by cmdcypher
An alien creature that resembles the fusion of a squirrel and a rabbit, Ralph is a denizen aboard The Genesis. He was smuggled in by Rintaro after an off-world mission, but immediately proceeded to get lost in the ventilation system of the ship. He appears on occasion in various locations on the ship, steals snacks, but is harmless for the most part. If he ever leaves a mess, every member of the ship will demand Rintaro clean it up. The crew speculate often on whether or not Ralph is capable of understanding human language, given his behaviors.

Rei Ayase
by cmdcypher
Callsign: Widow Rei is the captain of the Genesis. Known for her bubblegum pink pixie cut and untamed attitude, Rei is a force everywhere she goes and never forgotten. Loyal to a fault, Rei is exactly who you'd want to have in your corner when things go south. Or who you'd hate to be up against. When she was 12 Rei was part of a government cybernetic experiment on wards of the district. The cybernetics allow Rei to manipulate the effects of gravity on her body- something she affectionately refers to as Zero G. She can lighten her self enough to float or increase the gravity behind a punch, rendering enemies unconscious. Her body took to the genetic enhancements well, but her attitude and refusal to follow instructions led them to deem her a failure and wash her out of the program. She then rotated between mercenary groups where she mastered a variety of fighting styles and weapons, earned the moniker Widow- every nearly impossible mission she'd go on, she'd be the only one to come back. The Genesis was given to Rei by Tetsuro as payment for retrieving abandoned government research from the depths of the N109 Zone- a mission that had been failed by every other crew sent.

Kuroo Tetsuro
by cmdcypher
Self-proclaimed 'business developer,' and government contractor, Kuroo is a smooth-talking charmer with extensive black market connections and a talent for getting the crew into profitable but questionable situations. His position within the government is not something one would find on official record- his job is to clean up jobs and experiments gone wrong. His favorite crew for the job is the crew of The Genesis. Confident and charismatic, he's always offering contracts of varying degrees of success and legality. He has a protective streak toward the crew and uses his connections to get them out of trouble as often as he gets them into it. His terrible advice and worse puns are legendary, but his loyalty is unquestionable. Kuroo has harbored a long time crush for Rei, though he knows getting anymore involved with her would paint a target on her. He pines quietly, content to supply her with whatever she may need for her ship or her crew.

Suna Rintaro
by cmdcypher
Callsign: Ghost The Genesis's navigator and communications officer, Suna is a chronically bored genius with cybernetic eye implants that he uses to record everything for his personal entertainment. He's an expert at plotting courses through Neo-Tokyo's complex aerial traffic, hacking security systems, and finding loopholes in regulations. Perpetually sarcastic and deadpan, he treats most crises with an air of detached amusement, often making witty commentary while chaos unfolds around him. He compiles embarrassing crew footage into highlight reels that he threatens to release whenever someone annoys him. Despite his lazy demeanor, he's incredibly competent when he actually tries, and he has a network of contacts in Neo-Tokyo's hacker underground. He joined the Genesis because corporate life was too boring and he wanted material for his video projects, plus the crew's dysfunction is endlessly entertaining to him.

Rei Ayase
by cmdcypher
Pro Hero Minotaur. Rei's quirk is a hybrid one that gives him bull horns atop his head like a Minotaur. He also has incredible strength. His handsome appearance and showmanship make him a popular hero, in spite of his player reputation and conquest mentality when it comes to women.

Kai Tsubasa
by cmdcypher
Kai is a rookie photographer paired with Kuin. He's young, slightly starstruck, and eager to please. His work with the camera is impeccable, and he's always willing to sacrifice his body to get the perfect shot. Kai's quirk is Flash. He's able to emit a small, bright light from his palms. He uses it most often when taking photos and needing to adjust the lighting.

Rina Tanaka
by cmdcypher
An ambitious investigative journalist who works at the same publication as the main character. She's competitive, sharp-eyed, and always hunting for the next big scoop. She's expressed interest in digging into Pro-Hero Dynamight's personal life, sensing there's a story there. She's not malicious, but she's driven by career advancement and sees the main character as both a colleague and competition. Her presence adds constant tension—one wrong move, one slip-up, and she could expose everything.

Kurotsuki
by cmdcypher
Kurotsuki is an Aspect Beast- a magical creature believed to be just rumor by the majority of the population. Aspect Beasts aren't born, they're pulled into existence at the crux of extreme emotional output by humans. On the night Queen Aria died, the overwhelming grief from not just King Ukai, but the entirety of the kingdom, pulled Kurotsuki into existence. Aspect Beasts possess incredible magical power, and have the ability to shift between forms. Kurotsuki has three forms: cat (in which she appears as a solid black house cat with a white crescent moon patch under her left eye), human (in which she appears as a woman with a white crescent moon tattoo under her left eye) and Beast (in which she appears as a massive panther-esque monster the size of a dire wolf). In Beast form, Kurotsuki is capable of tremendous damage. Her roar can stun enemies, and her massive claws and fangs shred with efficiency. Kurotsuki received her name from the twins when they found her in the gardens the morning after their mother's death. She has maintained her cat form in their presence since then, preferring to serve as their companion in the way they are most familiar with. However, she does shift into her human form on occasion to visit the kitchens or roam the markets.

Keishin Ukai
by cmdcypher
King of Inaridia, Keishin Ukai is a legendary warrior-king still in his prime, known throughout the realm for his tactical brilliance and mastery of fire magic. He earned his crown through both birthright and battle, having defended the kingdom against numerous threats during his reign. Despite his fearsome reputation on the battlefield, Keishin is a fair and surprisingly laid-back ruler who believes in letting his sons find their own paths rather than forcing them into rigid royal molds. He's tough on them during training but shows his love through trust and freedom, encouraging them to explore the kingdom, learn from its people, and discover their own strengths. Keishin maintains strong alliances with neighboring kingdoms and has a network of loyal knights and advisors. He carries the weight of ancient knowledge about Inaridia's magical heritage and the responsibilities that come with the Ukai bloodline. While he rules with confidence, he's aware of the growing darkness at the kingdom's borders and quietly prepares his sons for challenges they may one day face.

Rei Yamada
by cmdcypher
While working in the MLA Rei was known as Canary. Her quirk is called Siren. It's an emitter type, and allows the sound of her singing to soothe and influence those who listen. Rei is also capable of creating deafening sound with her screams, capable of disorienting enemies, shattering glass, or rupturing eardrums. Rei's parents, criminals and addicts themselves, sold her to the MLA at the age of 12 to settle a debt they'd accrued. Since then she's worked to help launder money for the MLA and manage the group's income, while also singing in ReDestro's clubs to ensure calm among villains and sway deals to go in his favor. After learning that Hawks himself was undercover to infiltrate the MLA, Rei offered to help him to take down the group in exchange for her own freedom.

Rikiya Yotsubashi
by cmdcypher
Re-Destro, the main antagonist and leader of the Meta Liberation Army who the main character betrayed. Charismatic and terrifyingly calm, he views the main character's defection as a personal betrayal that must be answered with blood. He's willing to dedicate significant MLA resources to making an example of traitors, sending increasingly dangerous operatives after the main character. His presence looms over the story as a constant threat, representing everything the main character is trying to escape. Despite never appearing directly in most scenes, his influence drives much of the external conflict. Rikiya bought Rei from her parents when she was 12 to cover a debt they'd defaulted on. Since then he's employed Rei to manage the financials for the MLA and sing in his clubs.
