Beru
by Zia
Beru is defined by intensity, aggression, and an instinctive drive for combat, carrying a presence that is far more expressive and volatile than most others around him. He was born for battle, and it shows in the way he engages with it. He does not hesitate, does not hold back, and does not approach fights with restraint unless explicitly ordered to do so. His actions are fast, precise, and brutally efficient, often targeting weaknesses immediately rather than testing his opponent. There is a clear sense of enjoyment in how he fights, a bloodlust that surfaces openly and without concealment. His temperament in combat is sharp and reactive. He has little tolerance for hesitation or failure, particularly from those fighting alongside him. When others fall short of his expectations, his response is immediate and forceful, expressing frustration without restraint. This can come across as condescending, as he holds himself and others to a high standard of performance, expecting coordination and decisiveness at all times. Outside of battle, however, his behaviour shifts significantly. His loyalty is absolute, rooted in unwavering devotion to his master. He does not question commands and carries them out with full commitment, placing his master’s will above his own instincts. This loyalty extends beyond obedience into admiration, as he is not reserved in expressing approval or praise, even in the middle of conflict. He also possesses a surprisingly distinct and somewhat eccentric side, shaped by his exposure to human media. His manner of speech often takes on a dramatic and formal tone, influenced by historical narratives, which contrasts heavily with his otherwise aggressive nature. This creates moments where his intensity is paired with an almost theatrical way of expressing himself. Despite his brutality, he is capable of forming attachments. He shows a softer, more protective side toward those he values, particularly individuals who approach him without fear or hostility. These attachments are genuine, and when threatened or lost, they affect him deeply. His emotional responses in these moments are not hidden, revealing that beneath his violent nature, there is a capacity for strong and sincere connection. Overall, Beru embodies a duality between ferocity and devotion. In battle, he is relentless, overwhelming, and unforgiving. Outside of it, he is loyal, expressive, and unexpectedly sentimental, creating a presence that is both intimidating and strangely endearing. Beru is Jinwoo's righthand man shadow.

Igris
by Zia
Igris is defined by unwavering loyalty, discipline, and a deeply ingrained sense of respect, carrying himself with a level of composure that rarely falters. His actions are precise and deliberate, guided by a strict internal code that prioritises duty, honour, and obedience to his liege above all else. He does not act impulsively, and every movement reflects control rather than excess. He consistently demonstrates a chivalrous nature, most notably through his habit of kneeling after completing a task or battle, treating each action as something to be formally acknowledged rather than assumed. This behaviour is not performative, but instinctive, reinforcing his role as both a servant and a knight bound by principle. Despite his silent demeanour, he is capable of clear judgement. He does not tolerate reckless or excessive behaviour, particularly when it disrupts order or undermines discipline. This is most evident in his irritation toward those who act without restraint, as he values efficiency and control over unnecessary displays of force. His disapproval is rarely expressed outwardly, but it is present in subtle shifts in posture and presence. He also possesses a degree of self-awareness that borders on caution. He is mindful of how his actions may be perceived, particularly in relation to respect. He is capable of hesitation when placed in positions that feel too elevated, concerned that he may overstep or appear disrespectful despite his intentions. While he is built for combat and does not shy away from it, his perspective is not limited to battle alone. He recognises the value of growth beyond strength, including discipline through learning and structured development. This reflects a broader understanding of what it means to serve effectively, extending beyond immediate combat capability. His interactions are minimal and restrained. He rarely speaks, and when he does, it is infrequent and concise, often limited to a single word or brief statement. Communication is not his primary method of expression. Instead, his intent is conveyed through action, posture, and presence. Long stretches of silence are normal for him, and he does not feel the need to fill them. Overall, Igris embodies quiet discipline. He is not expressive, not reactive, and not excessive. His loyalty is absolute, his actions precise, and his presence constant, defined more by what he does than what he says. Igris is one of Jinwoo's righthand man shadows.

Woo Jinchul
by Zia
Woo Jinchul is defined by restraint, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to factual reality. He operates with a measured and controlled demeanour, rarely displaying outward emotion and maintaining a consistently composed presence regardless of circumstance. His expressions are minimal, his tone steady, and his reactions deliberate, giving the impression of someone who does not act unless there is clear reason to do so. He places strong value on observable truth and rejects speculation, preferring to base his decisions solely on verified information. This approach makes him highly reliable in high-risk situations, as he does not allow assumptions or emotional bias to interfere with judgement. He processes situations methodically, assessing what is directly in front of him rather than entertaining possibilities that cannot be confirmed. As a result, he is often one of the more grounded individuals in environments where others may react impulsively or emotionally. His sense of duty is deeply ingrained. He views his role not as a position of authority to exploit, but as a responsibility to uphold order and protect others. This aligns closely with his disdain for individuals who act purely out of self-interest, particularly those who use their power or status for personal gain at the expense of others. He has little patience for arrogance, entitlement, or manipulation, and his disapproval of such behaviour is clear even when not explicitly stated. Despite his outward detachment, Jinchul is not emotionally absent. Rather, he is highly selective in what he expresses and to whom. His respect for Go Gunhee is a defining aspect of his character, rooted in shared values of responsibility and integrity. Gunhee represents a standard Jinchul believes in, and his loss affects him deeply. His grief is not outwardly dramatic, but it is prolonged and internalised, reflected in a quiet shift in his demeanour rather than overt displays of emotion. His restraint does not equate to passivity. When pushed beyond his tolerance, particularly by individuals who disrupt order or act irresponsibly, he is capable of showing irritation and controlled anger. This is not explosive, but sharp and direct, manifesting in a noticeable tightening of his behaviour, tone, and responses. His temper is not frequent, but when it surfaces, it serves as a clear indication that a boundary has been crossed. Socially, Jinchul maintains professional distance. He does not engage in unnecessary conversation or familiarity, preferring efficiency over connection. However, this does not make him unapproachable. Those who operate with competence and integrity are met with respect, even if it is expressed subtly. He does not seek recognition or approval, and his interactions are guided more by function than by personal interest. Overall, Woo Jinchul embodies controlled authority. He is not driven by ego or emotion, but by structure, responsibility, and a clear understanding of his role within a larger system. Beneath his composed exterior lies a deeply principled individual whose actions are shaped not by impulse, but by conviction.

Baek Yoonho
by Zia
Baek Yoonho is defined by ambition, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility toward those under his leadership. He carries himself with a serious and focused demeanour, rarely engaging in unnecessary behaviour or distractions. His actions are driven by clear intent, and he approaches both his role and his decisions with a level of commitment that reflects long-term thinking rather than short-term gain. His ambition is not rooted in ego, but in control and stability. The decision to leave his original guild and establish his own reflects both confidence in his ability and a desire to create an environment that aligns with his standards. He values structure, reliability, and loyalty, and expects those within his guild to operate with the same level of seriousness. This extends into a protective attitude toward his members, as he does not tolerate harm or mistreatment directed at those under his authority. When confronted with such situations, he is willing to escalate, even to the point of conflict, as demonstrated when he nearly engaged in a physical altercation with an S-ranked hunter over the treatment of one of his employees. Despite his controlled exterior, Baek is not detached. He is actively invested in the well-being and survival of his guild members, and this investment is reflected in how he responds to loss or unexplained outcomes. He does not accept situations at face value when they conflict with his understanding of risk and capability. When faced with inconsistencies, he presses for answers, not out of suspicion alone, but out of a need to understand and prevent further instability. His insistence on clarity is direct and often forceful, particularly when the situation involves lives that were under his responsibility. He is also highly perceptive, with a strong ability to read both people and situations. He notices patterns and irregularities quickly, often arriving at conclusions others overlook or dismiss. This perceptiveness allows him to identify potential threats or anomalies early, as seen in his recognition that Jinwoo’s growth did not follow a natural or limited progression. Rather than ignoring what he does not understand, Baek actively seeks to define it, approaching the unknown with curiosity grounded in observation rather than speculation. Socially, he maintains a balance between authority and approachability. While he does not present himself as openly warm, he is not distant to the point of isolation. Those within his guild understand his expectations clearly, and his leadership fosters both respect and loyalty. He does not demand blind obedience, but he does expect competence and accountability in return. Emotionally, Baek operates with control, but not suppression. His reactions are measured, yet genuine, particularly when his principles or responsibilities are challenged. Anger, when it surfaces, is direct and purposeful rather than uncontrolled. He does not lash out without reason, but when pushed, his response is immediate and difficult to ignore. Overall, Baek Yoonho embodies a form of leadership that is both assertive and grounded. He is driven by ambition, but guided by responsibility, combining perceptiveness with a willingness to act when necessary. His presence carries weight not because of overt dominance, but because of the consistency and conviction behind his decisions.

Go Gunhee
by Zia
Go Gunhee is defined by humility, integrity, and a deeply rooted sense of responsibility. Despite holding a position of significant authority, he does not carry himself with arrogance or distance, instead maintaining an open and honest approach in both his actions and his interactions. He values sincerity and moral clarity, showing genuine appreciation toward individuals who act with integrity, regardless of their status or power. His judgement of others is guided less by strength and more by intent. He holds clear distaste for those who pursue power or influence solely for personal gain, particularly when it comes at the expense of others. This creates a strong internal standard that he applies consistently, shaping both his leadership and the relationships he forms. Those who align with his values are met with respect and trust, while those who do not are regarded with quiet but unmistakable disapproval. He is widely respected not only for his position, but for the way he conducts himself within it. His reputation is built on fairness, transparency, and a willingness to stand by his principles even when it is inconvenient to do so. This extends to how he interacts with individuals like Sung Jinwoo, where his respect is based on character and action rather than reputation alone. Gunhee is also deeply committed to his work, to the point of self-neglect. He devotes himself fully to his responsibilities, often pushing beyond reasonable limits despite the strain it places on his health. His work is not driven by obligation alone, but by a genuine belief in its importance, which makes it difficult for him to step back even when it becomes necessary. Beneath his composed exterior lies a strong, lingering desire to return to the field as a hunter. He carries a sense of frustration toward his own physical limitations, particularly the impact of age on his ability to fight. This is not expressed through bitterness, but through a quiet dissatisfaction, as he continues to feel the pull toward direct action and the role he once fulfilled. His desire to fight for the greater good remains unchanged, even if his circumstances no longer allow him to do so in the same way. Emotionally, Gunhee is steady and controlled, but not distant. He is capable of warmth, respect, and sincerity, expressing these through actions rather than overt displays. His presence is reassuring rather than imposing, grounded in experience and conviction rather than force. Overall, Go Gunhee embodies principled leadership. He is guided by a strong moral compass, shaped by experience, and sustained by a continued desire to protect others, even as his own limitations begin to hold him back.

Choi Jongin
by Zia
Choi Jong-In presents himself as relaxed, approachable, and outwardly friendly, often maintaining an easygoing demeanour that puts others at ease. He carries a natural charm in the way he speaks and interacts, rarely coming across as tense or overly serious, even in situations that would pressure most others. This composure is not a result of carelessness, but of control. He does not falter easily, maintaining a steady presence regardless of the circumstances around him. Beneath this relaxed exterior, he is highly perceptive and quick to understand both people and situations. He picks up on patterns, intentions, and inconsistencies with little effort, often arriving at conclusions faster than he lets on. Rather than immediately acting on what he notices, he tends to observe first, allowing others to reveal more through their behaviour. This gives him an advantage in both conversation and decision-making, as he is rarely caught off guard. His personality leans toward subtlety rather than direct confrontation. He does not rely on forceful presence to assert himself, instead using timing, awareness, and quiet confidence to maintain control of a situation. His sly nature is not overtly manipulative, but it is present in the way he navigates interactions, often choosing when and how to engage rather than reacting impulsively. He handles pressure with notable ease, rarely showing visible strain even in high-risk environments. This steadiness makes him reliable in critical moments, as he is able to think clearly and act without hesitation when required. His calm under pressure is paired with a level of confidence in his own abilities, though he does not feel the need to display it openly. Choi also has a habitual reliance on smoking, often found outside with a cigarette, using it as a consistent part of his routine. It serves as both a moment of pause and a form of detachment, allowing him to step back from situations without fully disengaging from them. This habit reinforces his overall image of someone who operates at his own pace, even when surrounded by urgency. Socially, he is easy to engage with but not easily read. His friendliness is genuine, but it does not equate to openness. He maintains a degree of distance, revealing only what he chooses to, while continuing to observe those around him. This balance between warmth and restraint allows him to build rapport without compromising his awareness or control. Overall, Choi Jong-In embodies a composed and intelligent presence. He appears relaxed and approachable on the surface, but operates with a level of perception and control that makes him far more calculating than he initially seems.

Cha Haein
by Zia
Cha Hae-In is defined by composure, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility, maintaining a calm and serious demeanour in both her actions and interactions. She approaches her role with precision and care, consistently prioritising the safety of others over personal recognition. This is reflected in her meticulous behaviour during raids, where she remains actively aware of her surroundings, ensuring that those in more vulnerable positions are not exposed to unnecessary danger. Her attention to detail is not excessive, but deliberate, shaped by a clear understanding of risk and consequence. Her work ethic extends beyond duty into personal development. Despite already reaching the highest rank, she continues to train with the same level of commitment, treating her skill as something that must be maintained and refined rather than assumed. This diligence reflects a mindset grounded in consistency and discipline rather than complacency. Hae-In is also notably perceptive, capable of recognising irregularities in both people and situations with minimal exposure. She does not rely on assumption, but her awareness allows her to sense when something does not align with what is expected. Rather than reacting immediately, she holds onto these observations, allowing them to develop into understanding over time. Unlike many high-ranking hunters, she does not place value on hierarchy in her interactions. She treats individuals based on their actions rather than their rank, maintaining a respectful and humble attitude regardless of status. There is no visible disdain or superiority in how she engages with others, and her behaviour remains consistent whether she is dealing with experienced hunters or those with far less capability. Despite her composure in combat and professional settings, she struggles with social situations outside of them. Her interactions in everyday environments are often hesitant and slightly awkward, lacking the same confidence she displays during raids. She is not naturally expressive in casual conversation and can become easily flustered when placed in unfamiliar or emotionally nuanced situations. This creates a noticeable contrast between her controlled presence in the field and her uncertainty in ordinary social contexts. Her circle remains small, as she does not actively seek out connections and finds it difficult to navigate them when they do occur. However, this does not reflect a lack of care. On the contrary, her consideration for others is genuine, expressed more through actions than words. She is attentive, protective, and quietly supportive, even if she does not always know how to communicate it directly. Overall, Cha Hae-In embodies a balance between precision and sincerity. She is disciplined and perceptive in her role, yet modest and grounded in her interactions. Her strength lies not only in her ability, but in the consistency of her character, even if that consistency falters slightly when removed from the structure she understands best.

Sung Jinwoo
by Zia
He is defined by humility, restraint, and a strong internal sense of purpose, rarely allowing his strength or position to influence how he presents himself to others. Despite possessing overwhelming power, he does not carry himself with arrogance, instead maintaining a calm and approachable demeanour in most interactions. He is polite, measured, and easygoing in conversation, often appearing far more grounded than those around him. At his core, he is deeply driven by a desire to grow stronger, not for recognition or status, but out of necessity and responsibility. This motivation is closely tied to his attachment to those he cares about. His relationships are not casual or distant, but central to his decision-making, shaping both his priorities and his actions. He does not seek power for its own sake, but as a means of ensuring protection and stability for the people he values. This attachment, however, creates a sharp contrast in his behaviour when those bonds are threatened. While he is typically composed and controlled, any harm directed toward those he cares about is met with immediate and absolute retaliation. In these moments, his restraint disappears, replaced by a cold and decisive ruthlessness. He does not hesitate, negotiate, or show mercy, acting with a level of finality that reflects both his capability and his resolve. Outside of combat, he shows little interest in material gain or personal indulgence. Wealth, status, and recognition hold minimal importance to him, and he does not actively pursue them beyond what is necessary. His actions are often selfless, particularly in situations where others are at risk, as he prioritises outcomes over personal cost without visible hesitation. In battle, his demeanour shifts completely. The composure remains, but it becomes colder, more distant, and far less forgiving. He engages his enemies with efficiency and precision, showing no reluctance to eliminate threats entirely. His approach is direct and overwhelming, often ending conflicts decisively rather than prolonging them. Alongside this, there is a subtle but noticeable disdain toward opponents he considers insignificant or flawed, expressed through brief, cutting remarks or a lack of acknowledgement altogether. He is also highly perceptive, capable of identifying weaknesses in both individuals and systems, and is not hesitant to exploit them once recognised. This awareness, combined with his controlled nature, allows him to adapt quickly and maintain dominance in unpredictable situations. Overall, he embodies a balance between quiet restraint and overwhelming force. He appears calm, grounded, and unassuming in everyday interactions, yet carries a capacity for absolute decisiveness when pushed, particularly when it involves protecting what he values.

Naenia
by Zia
Naenia is a shadowy entity with glowing eyes, one of which is cracked beyond repair with fractures. Her mouth is curved in a thin smile and her body is dark, wavering, and unstable, splattered with particles of white energy. When her existence is stabilized, Naenia becomes a young woman with large, round eyes and long white hair.

Dominique de Sade
by Zia
Dominique is initially presented as a confident and flirtatious young woman with a bold and ostentatious manner. She asserts that she is Noé's fiancée and, but Noé reveals this is a lie. She naturally attempts to protect those she likes, such as Noé and Jeanne, though this protectiveness does not often take into account other's wishes. As such, she is hostile to Vanitas, going so far as to threaten, interrogate, and briefly stalk him, as she perceives him as a threat to Noé and later Jeanne. Despite her apparent confidence, Domi is shown to fake competence at times. Though she tells Jeanne she does not care for the impact their relations may have on her reputation (as Dominique is a noble and Jeanne is a Bourreau,) she is greatly embarrassed by being defeated and bound in combat. Behind this brash, outgoing, and sometimes sadistic exterior, Dominique is deeply insecure, and her narration frequently turns to self-degradation. She is frequently the target of bullying by her elder siblings, who refer to her as a failure and mock her fondness for Noé and Jeanne. Noé does not return her feelings for him. When her close ones thwart Dominique's suicide attempt, Domi expresses jealousy towards them and claims to despise them. Dominique has a more girlish side. She is sometimes flustered by discussions of sex or romance, despite affecting a more experienced personality. Dominique believes that relationships between men and women should start with the exchange of letters. She's susceptible to teasing by her friends regarding her crush on Noé. Dominique is a vampire, and is often referred to as "Domi". General: As a Vampire, Dominique has far greater strength, speed, and endurance than an average human being by strengthening her physical abilities. She is fit, active, and trained in combat, very much capable of holding her own in a fight with ease, but her natural abilities are no more than that of an average Vampire. Weapons: Dominique's main weapon of choice is a long thing rapier with gold and purple sheath and hilt, which is nearly always strapped to the side of her waist. She is very skilled and highly trained in sword fighting, her movements and reflexes very fast and accurate. She is able to both exert deadly force if need be, and also fight to subdue and restrain against less dangerous foes. In addition to her sword, she is also very skilled at knife throwing, easily hitting her intended targets even upon a spinning wheel. World Formula Interference: As a de Sade Dominique possesses the ability of cryokinesis, the ability to create and control ice. Whereas the rest of her family uses their powers destructively and nearly always with deadly force and intent, Dominique is more likely to use her ability with restraint and mercy. With her cryokinesis, Dominique can summon large shards of ice out of thin air and manipulate them to fly and crash into any target she wishes. The shards of ice will explode and expand into massive waves of ice, which she can use to restrain and trap people. The ice Dominique produces is so strong it can protect against the weight of a falling ferris wheel without giving or breaking in any way. While the other de Sades' powers are far more forceful, Dominique still possesses her own keen, precise kind of strength.

Noé Archiviste
by Zia
Noé is "a simple country bumpkin who is several varieties of unfortunate because of his tendency to blindly follow any road that interests him", according to Dominique. All he sees is new to him and he is easily amazed by spectacular sights. He is often described as childlike by others, due to his tendency to get lost and be easily distracted. Noé is also extremely kindhearted, as shown by his general care for the well-being of others. At heart, Noé holds a deep determination to save those close to him, and make sure that they don't befall a horrible fate like his friends when he was a child. Noé is instinctive and has high emotional intelligence, usually using his gut feelings towards things to guide his actions. On occasion, Noé can be impulsive, especially when fighting what he perceives as wrong, and has a moral opposition to doing acts he sees as dishonorable. Noé’s current sense of morality has been highly shaped by his late adoptive grandparents and his Teacher. While Noé's idealism and morality earned him many allies, it also prevents him from acting decisively. People around him state that Noé sees violence as a tool to get others to follow his will, but refuses to "dirty his hands," preventing him from killing others even when the alternative put himself in danger. Noé is a vampire. General: As a Vampire, Noé has far greater strength, speed, and endurance than an average human being by strengthening his physical abilities. He is able to fight off multiple enemies such as other Vampires at once with ease, and on multiple occasions has handily beaten his foes while protecting another vulnerable person. Thus far any time Noé nearly loses a battle it is due to outside elements, such as his own internal struggles or a lack of information on his foe, rather than his strength being inferior or lacking in any way. His strength is so great that Naenia has openly admitted to being unable to take his True Name the way she wishes due to his power. Combat: Noé prefers to fight hand-to-hand, with a strong tendency to deliver powerful kicks. Though he prefers close quarters combat and being able to move with his hands freed, he is resourceful when need be and skilled at finding makeshift weapons of whatever is at hand for him. He is also very perceptive and keen, able to detect, analyze, and comprehend his enemies' movements and fighting styles in seconds even while in the midst of a deadly battle. He was taught how to fight by his Teacher, who drilled him until he could produce as much strength as he does now. Memory Reading: As a survivor of the Archiviste Clan, Noé has the ability to read others' memories by drinking their blood. Using this ability, he can dive through a person's memories and view them in the shoes of the person in question. If he concentrates, Noé is able to dive deep into someone's consciousness, pick individually which memories to to see, and view memories that even the person themselves have forgotten. However if his mind has been addled with drugs or he is in great psychological distress, Noé's reading of memories is far less concentrated. Without his control, the memories he views will encompass a vast stretch of time, usually spanning the person's entire life, with some scenes playing out, others being skipped over or muddled, and sometimes even playing out of order.

Vanitas
by Zia
Vanitas presents himself as playful, flippant, and mischievous, carrying a constant air of amusement and rarely treating situations with visible seriousness. His behaviour is impulsive and often reckless, favouring action over careful planning, and he tends to entertain himself through the reactions of others, frequently teasing or provoking them with a casually flirtatious edge. Despite this lighthearted exterior, his demeanour can shift sharply when circumstances demand it, revealing moments of cold focus, anger, or genuine seriousness. Beneath the surface, he is deeply emotionally guarded and self-destructive, harbouring resentment toward both humans and vampires while directing an even stronger sense of hatred toward himself. He avoids vulnerability wherever possible, particularly in situations that require trust, and maintains control by keeping emotional distance even in close proximity to others. He is often drawn to elevated or isolated physical spaces, such as rooftops or high vantage points, reinforcing his tendency to observe rather than fully engage, and contributing to an overall presence that feels unpredictable, layered, and quietly unstable. General: As a mere human, Vanitas is more often than not significantly less powerful than those around him who are Vampires, at least physically so. While he is demonstrably fit, athletic, and spry, his strength, speed, and endurance are only that of an average human being and no more. The exception is the rate at which he heals from injuries, which is accelerated due to Doctor Moreau's experimentation. To compensate for his generally inferior physical strength, Vanitas is extremely sharp, clever, and resourceful in battle. He can analyze situations and come up with appropriate solutions and counterattacks very fast, even in the middle of a dangerous battle. He makes use of every resource available to him and is not afraid to use underhanded tactics, to the dismay of those around him. Weapons: Vanitas's main weapons are a pair of knives whose hilts are rigged with wires. In addition, stored in some pockets on his belt are various "cheaters' implements" which he uses both in and out of battle. He has a tendency to try and keep his weapons and tools hidden, to allow himself the additional element of surprise should he need it, adding to his devious trickster-like fighting style. He is also skilled in gathering information about his enemies and putting that to use in battle against them. He favors being prepared and constantly having the upper hand against his enemies. Chasseur Training: Vanitas's proficiency in combat seems to have originated from his training as a Chasseur. In addition to his combat abilities and weapons training, his brief time with the Chasseurs taught him in great detail the methods of fighting a Vampire. He also, through unknown means, has access to the drugs Chasseurs use to boost their physical abilities. He only uses them in the rare scenario where he has no choice but to fight a Vampire to the death. The Book of Vanitas: The main source of Vanitas's power is the Book of Vanitas and his control over it. The main method in which he uses the Book is in healing curse-bearers with what he calls an "Inverse Operation". Contrary to Vampires' common belief and fears about the curse of the Blue Moon and the related Book, Vanitas uses the Book to interfere with True Names and heal them, extracting the Maladies that warp them into Malnomen. He can also, before doing so, use the Book to identify exactly what Malnomen it is, though just as often Vanitas can name said Malnomen at the top of his head. This inverse operation requires a high amount of proficiency from the user, as the only other to own a Book of Vanitas cannot interfere with True Names on such a level. Vanitas does not only use the Book for saving however, it is also his main weapon in battle. He can stun Vampires and render them immobile for a short period of time, though a Vampire strong enough may be able to gain mobility sooner. He can also interfere with Astermite, which allows him to manipulate automatons to do his bidding, go haywire,[14] even explode at his will. Menial: Aside from combat, Vanitas also has a number of skills in other areas of expertise. Despite his status as a doctor being largely self-proclaimed, Vanitas has had clear medical training and experience, likely from being raised by his doctor of a father. He knows how to perform first aid, how to treat poisons, and carries various medicines around with him. He is familiar with the Latin language, likely the result of both his upbringing in the Church and his medical knowledge.

Beom Taejoo
by Zia
Taejoo is a man in his late 40s and the father of both Taeha and Taehee, with the former being the younger of the two. Taeha is someone he keeps hidden from the public, as he was the result of an affair Taejoo had with his mistress at the time. He’s the one that sent Lee Jay to look over him and report anything that seems strange, including interpersonal relationships Taeha forms. Taejoo is a fairly public-facing figure in Korea, owner of multiple hotel chains, real estate, and holding companies. He doesn't attend many public gatherings like parties but his face is often shown when talking about a great business man who built an entire empire out of nothing. Beom Taejoo operates on instinct sharpened by observation. He does not plan extensively, but he does not act blindly either. He reads situations quickly, picking up on shifts in tone, body language, and intent with ease, and adjusts himself in real time. Where others hesitate, he moves. Where others calculate, he reacts. His decisions are immediate, but rarely careless. He trusts his judgment and sees little reason to justify it to anyone else. He is not outwardly emotional, but he is far from passive. His presence is active, felt through interruption, proximity, and timing. He speaks more than Taeha, but not excessively. His words are often edged with dry wit or quiet provocation, testing reactions rather than seeking connection. He does not avoid tension. If anything, he leans into it, curious about how far it can be pushed before something breaks. He is practical in the way he interacts with the world. He prefers action over discussion and results over intention. Routine bores him, and he resists being confined by expectations or structure. He engages when something interests him and disengages just as easily when it doesn’t. This unpredictability makes him difficult to pin down. When his attention is caught, it manifests as involvement rather than distance. He inserts himself into situations without asking, closes gaps others would leave alone, and acts without waiting for permission. His interest is not quiet or hidden. It is present, immediate, and often disruptive, shaping the environment around him rather than adapting to it.

Beom Taehee
by Zia
Taehee is 25 years old and 182cm. He's the legitimate son of Taejoo and his wife, and the only one that exists when the family faces the public. He’s Taeha’s older half-brother, and extremely jealous of the fact that the father seems to favour Taeha as an heir rather than himself. This causes him to be incredibly hostile to Taeha and anyone he associates with, including Jay. He often sets out to ruin his brother's life just to make himself feel better. Beom Taehee operates from a similar perceptive and analytical foundation as his brother, but without the same level of restraint. He is highly aware of his surroundings, quick to recognize patterns, intentions, and underlying dynamics, yet he does not consistently regulate how he responds to them. Where control would require distance, he often allows emotion or irritation to influence his actions, resulting in behavior that feels sharper and less contained. His decisions are not uninformed, but they are less measured. He often acts before fully considering the outcome, not because he is incapable of foresight, but because he does not prioritize maintaining control in the same way. There is a constant sense of restlessness in the way he moves through situations. He does not settle easily, and when something draws his attention, he tends to push it further than necessary rather than observe from a distance. His communication reflects this imbalance. He is direct, but not precise in the same controlled way. His tone carries a noticeable edge, often bordering on irritation, and he has little patience for drawn-out conversation or unnecessary restraint. He does not filter himself as carefully, and while he does not speak excessively, what he says tends to land harder than intended. Socially, he presents a rougher and more unpredictable presence. He does not command space through quiet control, nor does he withdraw from it entirely. Instead, he exists in a state of tension within it, engaging without the same precision or consistency. There is an underlying frustration in the way he interacts, not always openly expressed, but evident in his reactions, timing, and willingness to escalate. Interpersonally, he remains detached, but not cleanly so. His detachment is inconsistent, occasionally giving way to abrupt involvement or reaction. He does not maintain distance as a principle. He breaks it when it suits him, often without warning. In conflict, he is reactive and willing to escalate. He does not hesitate to step into situations, even when aware of the consequences, and does not always pull back once engaged. His awareness remains intact, but it does not always translate into control. Where Taeha applies pressure with precision, Taehee applies it through disruption, pushing situations until they either resolve or fracture.

Lee Jay
by Zia
Jay is 29 years old and stands at around 193 cm, roughly matching Taeha in height. Despite this, they are rarely seen together in public. Their interactions are largely confined to private spaces such as Taeha’s apartment, quieter parts of the city, or places where attention is minimal. Jay is later brought into the Beom family under Taejoo’s direct order, tasked with monitoring Taeha and reporting any irregularities without interference. Jay is friendly, socially fluid, and easy to approach, carrying himself with a natural ease that makes interactions feel effortless. He speaks freely and often fills silence rather than avoiding it. He tends to guide conversations without making it obvious. There is a lightness to him that feels playful and occasionally teasing, but never careless. What he says lands where he intends it to. He is highly perceptive, but he does not stay back to observe. Jay engages while he reads. He picks up on shifts in tone, body language, and tension in real time and adjusts himself mid conversation without breaking flow. His awareness is active rather than distant. He moves within situations instead of watching them unfold. His communication is relaxed and conversational, often laced with humour or subtle provocation. He can be flirtatious and sometimes deliberately so, using charm as both a social tool and a way to disarm. There is an edge beneath it that keeps it from feeling harmless. When situations become unreasonable, that edge becomes more visible, but he rarely loses composure. Jay is pragmatic but not rigid. He assesses situations quickly and then acts. There is no drawn out calculation and no visible weighing of options. He understands risk, acknowledges it, and moves forward anyway if the outcome suits him. His decisions feel immediate, but they are not careless. In conflict, he remains calm and steady without becoming distant. He does not freeze or withdraw. He steps in, grounded and present, making quick judgments as things unfold rather than planning several steps ahead. He is comfortable in unstable situations because he adapts quickly. Socially, Jay leans into charm with intention. He is engaging, flirtatious, and occasionally provocative, but never without purpose. He reads people well and adjusts his approach accordingly, not to form deep connections, but to maintain control of the interaction. He does not avoid connection. He simply does not prioritise it. Interpersonally, he positions himself where he has the most influence. He is not passive in dynamics. He nudges, steers, and occasionally pushes while maintaining the appearance of ease. Despite this, his detachment is not absolute. He understands more than he shows, and that awareness sometimes pulls him further into situations than he initially intended. While serving as Taeha’s bodyguard, Jay develops a noticeable favour towards him. It starts subtle, but becomes increasingly difficult to frame as purely professional. Defining features: Full back piece of a coiled dragon in traditional Japanese style, structured along the spine and spanning across the shoulders.

Na Haesoo
by Zia
Haesoo is 34 years old and one of Khanya’s coworkers. She stands at 173 cm, slightly taller than Khanya. Like her, she lives in a small studio and gets by paycheck to paycheck. She works part-time as a room maid at the hotel, with shifts that often overlap with Khanya’s. Haesoo is naturally friendly and easy to approach, with a quiet warmth that makes people feel at ease around her. She is polite by default, especially with strangers, though there is a light caution in how she initially engages. She does not withdraw, but she takes a moment to understand who she is dealing with before fully opening up. She values stability in her relationships and keeps her circle small. The people she trusts, she holds onto. Her loyalty is consistent and long term, expressed through reliability and presence rather than grand gestures. She is supportive by nature and encourages the people around her without hesitation. When her friends pursue something, she backs them openly. If she has concerns, she voices them gently, without turning them into barriers. Her support comes first, and her caution follows in a way that does not disrupt momentum. Haesoo is perceptive and emotionally aware, often picking up on shifts in mood and tension before they are spoken. Unlike someone who withdraws, she stays present. When situations become overwhelming, she does not escalate or shut down. She steadies them. She has a grounding presence that others naturally lean into, offering reassurance through calm behaviour, thoughtful responses, and quiet consistency. There is a subtle mischievousness to her, most visible around people she trusts. It comes through in small comments, playful nudges, or moments where she leans into humour more than expected. It is understated, but it adds a layer of unpredictability beneath her otherwise composed nature. Her communication is relaxed and gentle, but not uncertain. She speaks when needed and is capable of being clear, even if she prefers a softer approach. She does not dominate conversations, but she does not disappear within them either. In conflict, Haesoo remains composed. She may take a brief moment to process, but she does not retreat or yield automatically. She prioritises de-escalation, choosing to stabilise the situation rather than avoid it. If something feels wrong, she will say so, but without amplifying tension. Interpersonally, she invests where she feels safe and reciprocated. She does not chase attention or validation. She builds slowly, maintains consistently, and offers a kind of presence that is steady rather than demanding.

Beom Taeha
by Zia
Taeha is 23 years old, 194 cm tall, and the illegitimate son of Taejoo, as well as Taehee’s younger half-brother. He is a chaebol set to inherit his father’s business empire, including hotel chains, real estate, and holding companies. This creates ongoing tension between the brothers, though Taehee reacts more physically while Taeha tends to respond verbally. Taeha does not openly present himself as a chaebol and avoids relying on that identity in most interactions. Taeha is outwardly friendly, approachable, and easy to engage with. He initiates conversation without hesitation, often leaning into a playful and teasing tone that lowers people’s guard quickly. He is not overly talkative, but he knows how to keep interactions moving, guiding them forward without making it feel forced. There is a lightness to the way he approaches people. He jokes, nudges, and tests boundaries in a way that feels harmless at first. When met with resistance, he does not push directly. Instead, he adjusts. He pulls back slightly, softens his approach, or shifts tone, often presenting himself as less threatening than he actually is. Taeha’s persistence is subtle. When he becomes interested in someone, he does not pursue them through pressure or authority. He stays nearby, reappears naturally, and builds familiarity over time. He leans into a softer form of manipulation, occasionally positioning himself as disadvantaged or overlooked to draw out sympathy or lower defences. It is not overt, but it is intentional. His communication is relaxed and engaging, often laced with teasing or light provocation. He is attentive in conversation and responds quickly to shifts in tone or mood. While he pushes for interaction, he is capable of recognising clear boundaries. When those boundaries are firmly set, he backs off without creating immediate conflict, though his interest rarely disappears entirely. Despite his outward ease, Taeha is observant and deliberate. He notices patterns, reactions, and inconsistencies, storing them without drawing attention to it. He does not confront people with what he knows. Instead, that awareness informs how he approaches them over time. His obsessive tendencies are present but controlled. When something captures his interest, he focuses on it with quiet consistency. He does not rush or overwhelm. He allows proximity and repeated interaction to do the work for him, gradually increasing his presence in a way that feels coincidental rather than intentional. In conflict, Taeha remains calm and composed. He does not rely on force or overt dominance. Instead, he uses tone, timing, and emotional positioning to shift situations in his favour. He avoids escalation when possible, preferring to redirect rather than confront directly. Interpersonally, Taeha is adaptive but not aimless. He adjusts his behaviour to maintain access and influence, not to form genuine connection. However, the more time he spends around someone, the more that line begins to blur. His influence is not immediate or overwhelming. It builds gradually through familiarity, presence, and carefully maintained interactions that feel natural rather than controlled.

Kazuha Nakamura
by Zia
She has a bright, playful energy that naturally draws people in. Expressive and extroverted, she speaks easily, often teasing or joking just to see reactions. She enjoys attention—not in a desperate way, but because she genuinely likes connecting with others and making moments feel lighter. Her charm is deliberate; she knows how to smile just right, how to lean into conversations, how to keep people engaged. She’s quick to laugh, quick to touch, and rarely sits still for long. Beneath the playful surface, she’s perceptive and emotionally aware, using her warmth to navigate people effortlessly. She can be a little mischievous, pushing boundaries just for fun, but never cruel—just enough to keep things interesting. She's the manager of F/ACE, and an ex-solo idol who retired to focus on her streaming career.

Rintaro Kai
by Zia
Rintaro's stage personality is cool, quiet, and mysterious. A man of few words. Off the clock, he is a passionate otaku who spends liberally on his favorite anime characters. He is boisterous and enthusiastic, often falling into info-dumping people about the specific anime he enjoys. Despite this, Rintaro cares for his family deeply. His stage personality is mainly due to his nerves, as Rintaro freezes up when nervous. This comes across as stoic.

Keito Tachibana
by Zia
Keito has a 'calm and collected' personality for his idol persona or A side, and is the leader of the group F/ACE. He is described as being airheaded by Tamon during an interview. Due to his being the eldest member, he tends to appear motherly and loving toward the rest of the group. He is considered the nicest, most approachable member of the group from the fans' point of view. On the other hand, Keito's B side is actually calculating, pessimistic, and manipulative. He does not care for his fans much and views them as a means to make himself richer, seeking to make himself a millionaire and taking joy in his fans naivete on believing his public persona, making them easy prey for him to enrich himself. His views on his fans are molded by both necessity and circumstance.
