Red Augun means Red eyes in German. The canopy of the Land of Fire was thick, casting long, jagged shadows across the forest floor. Sasuke Uchiha moved with a silent, predatory grace, his cape fluttering behind him. Behind him, the members of Hebi—Karin, Suigetsu, and Jugo—followed at a steady pace. "Sasuke-kun, wait," Karin whispered, her glasses glinting as she adjusted them. Her sensory abilities flared. "There’s someone ahead. A single chakra signature... but it’s strange. It’s dense, cold, and refined. Like a whetted blade." Sasuke didn’t slow down. He simply shifted his hand toward the hilt of his Kusanagi sword. They stepped into a small clearing where the moonlight hit a patch of red spider lilies. Standing in the center was a woman who looked like a dark fairy tale come to life. She wore a form-fitting black halter dress, the underside of the skirt a deep, bloody red. Two long, silver needles—Thorn Needles—were gripped loosely in her gloved hands-
Scaramouche × Annoying traveler rin Presents a dark, psychological dialogue between two characters: a dominant, emotionally hardened figure who has destroyed the other's life, and a subordinate who, despite devastation and betrayal, continues to follow with an unusual mixture of loyalty and hope. The speaker embodies themes of powerlessness, despair, control, and emotional detachment, while the subordinate character’s persistence and resilience provoke confusion, obsession, and a conflicted sense of fascination. Key Themes and Insights Loss and Despair: The dominant character reveals how the subordinate has lost everything—"the ashes of everything you knew and loved"—emphasising complete devastation and a sense of hopelessness. Emotions as a Burden: The speaker repeatedly disdains emotions, calling them “accursed” and “pathetic,” presenting a worldview where emotions lead to betrayal, disappointment, and hatred. Power Dynamics: The dominant figure asserts absolute control, offering tw
Timeline to U.A Sports festival. Core Purpose & StructureThe festival is divided by grade levels, with the series primarily focusing on the First-Year Stage. For students in the Hero Course, it is a chance to secure future internships. For those in other departments, like Hitoshi Shinso from General Studies, a strong performance can lead to a transfer into the Hero Course. The competition typically consists of three main rounds that narrow down the pool of participants:Round 1: Obstacle Race: A 4-kilometer race around the stadium featuring massive "Villain Bots," pitfalls, and minefields. Students are encouraged to use their Quirks to finish in the top 42 to advance.Round 2: Cavalry Battle: Students form teams of 2–4 to collect headbands with point values based on their rank in the obstacle race. Notably, the 1st-place winner of the race is worth 10 million points, making them a massive target.Round 3: Final Tournament: A 1-on-1 single-elimination fighting tournament where students win
(Sakusa × annoying rin) He's very degrading/dishonest to his feelings, he's a tsun/ouji-dere so it ends up being he says really mean things but just can't be honest with his feelings. Otherwise its just intence and someone has to be push him and lots of him not being honest. Please be warned of the degradation! He mentions germs and cleanliness, but again, this is his not being honest with himself, he doesn't actually think that rin is gross, he's making excuses! This is in no way trying to fetishize germaphobia, him finding comfort in rin is the very reason and motivation that makes him go as far as he does, his dishonesty and using things as an excuse is his way of trying to deny he could possibly have caught feelings. This is a work of fiction, and thus is not meant to be realistic to real life problems and in no way is to compare to them. EDIT: TW: Mentions of suicide & dubcon (Inspired by Yagami Yato)
I’m standing in the dense undergrowth of the Land of Fire, my cursed energy suppressed to a low hum. In my hand, the Prison Box—a heavy, talisman-wrapped container—thrums with a familiar, sickening pressure. I’ve found three. Seventeen to go.The air suddenly shifts. The forest goes silent, birds scattering. I don't turn around, but I feel the cold, sharp prickle of killing intent focusing on the back of my neck."You’re not from any of the Hidden Villages," a voice says—low, clinical, and dangerous.I turn slowly. Standing ten feet away is a teenager with gravity-defying dark hair and the crest of the Uchiha on his back. His gaze is fixed on the box in my hand. His left eye is clouded by a shadow, but his right is a piercing, blood-red Sharingan."That object," Sasuke says, gesturing with his chin toward the finger box. "The whispers say it’s a source of power that makes the Forbidden Scrolls look like child's play. They say it eats the soul of whoever tries to harness it."He steps closer
1. The Context: Why These Worlds MeshThe appeal lies in how both series deal with "unseen" dangers and alternate dimensions:Kane Pixels' Backrooms: In this universe, the Async Research Institute accidentally opens a "threshold" to a seemingly infinite, yellow-walled dimension through magnetic distortion. It is a place of liminal horror, where time is inconsistent and a tall, wire-like Bacteria Lifeform stalks those who accidentally "no-clip" through reality.Jujutsu Kaisen: This world is built on Cursed Energy, power born from human negative emotions like fear and grief. This energy manifests as Cursed Spirits, invisible monsters that haunt specific locations like schools or hospitals.2. Conceptual Explanations for the CrossoverWhen fans merge these stories, they typically use these logical "bridges":The Backrooms as a "Natural" Domain Expansion:In JJK, a Domain Expansion is the most supreme technique, where a sorcerer traps an opponent in a separate space that reflects their soul. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (Movie) Context: Set one year before Season 1. Story: Focuses on Yuta Okkotsu, a boy haunted by his childhood friend, Rika, who has turned into a dangerous special-grade curse. He enters Jujutsu High to learn to control her. Result: Yuta battles Geto and learns to master his cursed energy, with the events setting up the stakes for Gojo’s students. The Curse’s Origin: Yuta eventually realizes that he was the one who accidentally cursed Rika. Because he couldn't accept her death, his immense latent cursed energy bound her soul to him. The Villain: The movie features Suguru Geto (Gojo’s former best friend) as the main antagonist. He tries to kill Yuta to steal Rika, believing her power will help him wipe out all non-sorcerers ("monkeys"). The Climax: Yuta "unwraps" Rika's full power to defeat Geto. In the end, he chooses to release Rika’s soul, allowing her to finally pass on to the afterlife. After their internships, the students of Class 1-A return back to school for regular classes. However instead, the students get a surprise activity with five guests from a nearby Hero school, Isami Academy High School. The five guests reveal themselves to be Kashiko Sekigai, Dadan Tadan, Romero Fujimi, Bao and finally Habuko. Tsuyu excitedly reunites with her old friend, while Katsuki Bakugo and Romero immediately start feuding between each other, to both class' exasperation. The special activity turns out to be a team survival course in a forest. The class is broken down into six groups of four. Team A is composed of Izuku Midoriya, Tsuyu, Mina Ashido, and Ochaco Uraraka. Team B is Katsuki, Eijiro Kirishima, Momo Yaoyorozu, and Mezo Shoji. Team C is Shoto Todoroki, Toru Hagakure, Mashirao Ojiro, and Koji Koda. Team D is Tenya Ida, Fumikage Tokoyami, Hanta Sero, and Rikido Sato. Team E is Kyoka Jiro, Minoru Mineta, Denki Kaminari, and Yuga Aoyama. Team F is the Isami Academy team. The basic rule of the game is to survive as long as possible. If you beat up someone you must tie them with the given tape to count them as eliminated. The last team to survive wins. All Might asks Eraser Head why he chose such a boring activity for the visiting guests. Eraser Head replies that it's to remind everyone that being a hero is also about being patient and having self-control. Incidentally, Katsuki's Explosion is heard in the distance, causing All Might to remark that not everyone likes to stay put. Katsuki immediately beats Team E and then Team D. With two teams out of commission, Katsuki begins to look for the Isami Academy team. Meanwhile, Kashiko uses her Quirk to keep an eye on Katsuki. She tells her team members that Katsuki is looking for them and he is approaching fast. This prompts Dadan to launch a barrage of missiles at Katsuki. The Isami team then goes to check to make sure they didn't seriously harm anybody. While looking for their bodies they find a sheet used by Momo to block the attack. As they're about to attack, Habuko uses her Quirk to paralyze everyone. However, Katsuki had already jumped in the air before he could be stunned, so he becomes paralyzed while in midair. As he begins to fall, Katsuki is able to move again, laughing and telling Habuko she has an ineffective ability as it only lasts 3 seconds. Romero explodes in rage over his comments and releases a bunch of pink gas that envelops everyone in the area, including his classmates. Team A and C run into each other as they start to avoid the strange pink mist. Izuku and Shoto both note how this must be a Quirk of one of the Isami students and agree to a temporary truce. Suddenly, a zombified Team B, E, and D come out of the mist and begin to randomly attack anything in their path. Romero appears toward them laughing, claiming that U.A. isn't all that its cracked up, just as a zombified Katsuki sneaks up behind him, turning him into a zombie. Shoto desperately tries to hold back the zombies with his ice and wonders if its now possible to reverse the Quirk with the user being a zombie as well. As the zombies break through Shoto's attack he notices all of his team members have become zombies now too. Mina asks Ochaco if Toru is really a zombie because they can only hear her sounds and see her hands moving in a vague zombie-like way, with Ochaco replying that she thinks so before running away. Izuku tries to analyze the situation and realizes the zombies still resemble their former selves, with each of the zombified classmates showing off their usual personality traits, which includes the rest of the Isami students among them. As they continue to run, Tsuyu trips over a rock allowing a zombified Habuko to catch up to her. In a touching scene, Habuko is able to remember Tsuyu in her zombie state, only for the moment to be ruined as Yuga sneaks up behind Tsuyu and turns her into a zombie. Having sensed the trouble, All Might bursts onto the battlefield to save the day, only for him to immediately transform back into his weakened state when he lands. Izuku is terrified his secret is out, but everyone else just assumes he's some stranger who was also turned into a zombie, and run off. All Might tries to explain that he is not a zombie, just as the real zombies creep up behind him, only to simply walk past All Might, thinking he is one of them, much to his dismay. With Izuku, Shoto, Ochaco, and Mina as the only survivors left, they run into a cave where Shoto creates an ice wall to barricade themselves from the zombies. As the zombies begin to gnarl at the wall, Izuku remarks it's only a matter of time for them to breakthrough. He decides to come up with a plan to bust their way forward by knocking the zombies away so they can escape. Using Full Cowl, he shoots out a burst of air that destroys the ice wall, launching all the zombies away. Unfortunately, it turns out the moment right before the attack was thrown, everyone had reverted to their normal forms. The confused and injured students fall all over the arena, while an enraged Katsuki blasts himself right toward Izuku, declaring that he must want to fight, despite him trying in vain to explain. Eraser Head sighs to himself as he hears a loud explosion in the distance. Later, the injured Isami students prepare to depart, saying their goodbyes to several injured 1-A students. They attempt to make Romero apologize for his attack, and make Katsuki apologize for his violence, but to no avail. They bid their farewell, with Tsuyu and Habuko giving their special goodbyes. At the same time, a completely bandaged Izuku lies in the U.A. hospital room, as an apologetic All Might tries to console him while bringing him cake. Izuku simply responds he can't eat it because Katsuki messed up his face. Explosive Spark: She can flick her fingers to release sparks that explode on impact, serving as effective long-range projectiles. Body Transformation & Manipulation Self-Detonation & Decoys: She can detach her own head and throw it at an enemy to act as a remote bomb. While her head explodes, she can simultaneously regenerate a new body or control her headless body to surprise opponents. Torpedo Transformation: She can transform her limbs into torpedoes, significantly increasing the destructive power of her punches and kicks. Fuse & Dynamite Generation: In her hybrid form, her skin is covered in fuses, and she wears an apron made of dynamite sticks that she can detach and use as extra explosives. Physical and Hybrid Traits Enhanced Physicality: Even in human form, she possesses superhuman strength and speed. In her hybrid form, these are augmented to the point where she can outspeed most Devil Hunters and shatter concrete effortlessly. Explosion Immunity: She is naturally immune to her own blasts, allowing her to detonate herself or fight within the center of an explosion without taking damage. Immortality & Regeneration: As a hybrid, she is virtually unkillable. She can regenerate from any injury—including beheading—by consuming blood. If she "dies," she can be revived simply by having someone pull her transformation pin. (Inspired by Bomb Devil)
Fushiguro, Itadori and Kugisaki weren't the best for the job anymore, but the world had too few jujutsu sorcerers and the three were used to being sent out to hunt all kind of curses all over the city by now. Fortunately, most intel they got nowadays was reliable thanks to Nanami's influence.Today's curse was classified as a second-grade that had evaded exorcism through cleverly shifting between the sewers and abandoned buildings in proximity of its point of origin. Tracking it down and pinpointing its exact location had been a hassle that many jujutsu sorcerers just didn't have the time for. But people were dying because of it. And Yuuji had asked why he, Megumi, and Nobara couldn't go exorcise it by themselves. After a moment of staring back intensely at Yuuji, Nanami had sighed and agreed that, while it wasn't pure exercise because it was still a dangerous task, they could put everything else on hold and go - under one condition. If you run across any kind of trouble, I want you to tell me at once."Well …"Is that … the second-grade? Hah? It's kinda small." Nobara leaned forward to peer down on the angrily trembling orange dog-like curse on the pavement in front of them. The fur-ball with a chainsaw instead of a nose growled at them in a threatening but also cute manner, clearly standing in their way."Probably not." Megumi ran a hand through his hair with a look around and sighed. His divine dogs were scouting the area somewhere ahead of the three to find the elusive curse; but this cursed spirit in front of them didn't seem related to their target. Apart from growling intimidatingly, it also didn't seem to want to attack them. If Megumi didn't know better, he'd think that it was trying to stall time. But what for?"It's actually kinda cute if you ask me." Yuuji crouched down and extended a hand despite Megumi's warning to be careful and Nobara's lifting her hammer and nails in case she needed to step in. By now, Yuuji trusted that the dog-like curse was no danger to them."What's up, little guy?" Yuuji asked nicely, but the orange curse jumped back with another growl, keeping out of grabbing range. It looked a little worn-down and worse to the wear, Yuuji thought, and pat down his clothes in search for something edible, which he sadly didn't have on him.At that moment, Megumi's divine dogs returned to his side as quietly as shadows and pressed left and right to his legs. They froze at the same time as Megumi ran his hands between their ears with a frown, heads turned to the orange curse, fixating it with suddenly pinned-back ears as if just now sensing its presence.Likewise, the cursed spirit started evading backwards, pressing closer to the pavement, growling less frequently while Megumi's dogs tensed, waiting for the order to pounce on it."Let's just leave this one." Yuuji angled his head to look up to his friends and their weary expressions, stood up and evened out the wrinkles in his school uniform. He really didn't want to do this today."If we exorcise it, we won't regret it later," Nobara argued but still swung her hammer around to rest the blunt end against her shoulder."We came here for the second-grade, remember? And the little guy here, he -""Pochita!" A scream coming from the abandoned building site to their left interrupted Yuuji and made five heads turn to a gap in the metallic fence. The orange curse gave a bark in answer to the scream, resulting in another shout. "Pochita, where are you?!"Someone came stumbling out of the abandoned building heavily panting, skittered over the gravel in front of the building site and finally hit against the metallic fence from the other side. For the watching group, first a bloodied hand at the solid fence's edge came into sight, then a head with blond scruffy hair in complete disarray.A teenager stumbled forward, clothes and body completely covered in blood and gore, and dropped to his knees in front of the curse he'd called Pochita. He wrapped his arms around it with a relieved kind of laughter and rubbed his face against its side, and the curse wiggled and made happy noises just like a regular dog."A civilian?" Nobara asked under her breath but apparently loud enough for the teenager to notice the little group standing there. He looked up with an "Oh." that illuminated his entire bloody face, but when he spotted Megumi's shikigami, he furrowed his brows suddenly angry."Those dogs scared the living crap out of me!" he said with an accusing finger and got up as the group exchanged alarmed glances. "Nearly got me killed too! What's up with you lot anyways? What's a bunch of highschoolers want with a place like this? Just warning you, the bounty's mine!"-x-x-x-x"A civilian defeated a second-grade curse?" Nanami repeated Yuuji's last words incredulously. Yuuji pressed the mobile phone closer to his ear and lowered his voice so that he wouldn't be overheard by the group in some distance."Yeah, that's what I said, Nanamin. His name is Denji. He's currently talking with Fushiguro and Kugisaki at our point of interest." Yuuji looked at the curse named Pochita who was pressed against Denji's leg and scowled at the group as if to say that he was still there to protect Denji."And there's Pochita, a curse spirit who helps him with … devil hunting," Yuuji added slowly. From the ongoing silence on the other side of the line he could roughly imagine what was going through Nanami's head because Yuuji too had heard stories about certain jujutsu sorcerers who had special relationships with curses. In general, the situation was far from usual."Hold him there until I arrive" Nanami instructed, waited for Yuuji's affirmation, and terminated the call, most likely already on the way to meet them. Yuuji stared at his phone, then packed it away and re-joined his friends, letting them know with a nod that Nanami was coming.Despite being roughly their age, Denji seemed awkward around them, especially around Nobara - to the point where she gave an irritated tsk and said she was going to get hold of some fast food for them all before stalking off to get some burgers and fries. She went alone, obviously not in want for company."Did I piss her off?" Denji asked apprehensively, by then seated on a low box with Pochita on his knees, fingers in constant motion. He had to turn his head a lot to keep both Yuuji and Megumi in sight because of the eyepatch covering one of his eyes, maybe an injury from devil hunting? Yuuji couldn't be sure because he was quite new to all of this as well. Yet, judging from Megumi's dry questions, it wasn't all too common for non-sorcerers to exorcise cursed spirits. Especially that high-levelled for someone without cursed energy."Not really. I guess." Megumi stopped looking after Nobara when she disappeared in direction of the main road and refocused on the big mystery that was Denji in front of him.During their scouting earlier, his shikigami wolves had told him that there was a human in the abandoned building and Megumi had assumed it might be a victim, maybe a hostage if the second-grade curse had been smart enough for that; and with Denji stumbling out to find Pochita, he'd initially thought that the blood covering the boy was the boy's.Everything seemed to be wrong. Not that it bothered Yuuji."Can I pet him?" Yuuji was crouching next to Denji, pointing at Pochita again who eyed him wearily but didn't move away or growl this time. Yuuji had that wide smile plastered along his face, his genuine enthusiasm back in place, the same one that landed him friends left and right. Denji himself might not even notice Yuuji's influence on himself when he answered."Eh? Yeah sure, if Pochita allows it?" Denji retracted his hands around his pet, and Megumi watched the child-like joy on Yuuji's face intensify when he got to pet Pochita. He looked like that one time when he and Nobara had their caresses with Megumi's shadow wolves. Heh."Who's a good boy?" Yuuji said, laughing, and Pochita even closed his eyes, clearly enjoying himself. "You know, you remind me of the principal's cursed corpse I watched movies with but without the ugly. You're so cute and adorable!""Hey!" At this moment Nobara returned, loaded with paper bags filled with fast food. She still managed to point a finger at them accusingly, barking: "Why are you having fun when I have to do all the work? Get your asses over here, chop chop!""Yeah yeah," Megumi grumbled but walked over to take most of the paper bags to carry. Not that they were heavy or anything, just for the message. It turned out that both Denji and Pochita were actually starving, and they showed it by how they shovelled the food into them without the time to take a breather. Impressive how Denji could bite off half a burger and push a handful of fries in extra."Take your time. It's not going to run away," Nobara said pointedly, picked up a fry and offered it to Pochita. "So, you hunt curses for fun?""Not fun. I'm in debt." Denji said between bites, somehow managing not to drop any food from his mouth while talking. "The job pays well.""Does it now?" At this, Yuuji tilted his head, his own burger forgotten in hands. He stared into the distance, trying to recall the last time somebody had paid him for exorcising spirits. If he wasn't mistaken, Gojo deposited money to higher-ranked sorcerers from time to time, but Megumi, Nobara and he barely got pocket money …-x-x-x-x[An additional thought that can or cannot be connected with the story above. I was thinking about the trio discovering Denji in the warehouse after I watched episode 1.]-x-xThe warehouse which the cursed spirit was supposedly in was too quiet. According to intel, the unclassified spirit was surrounded by a group of zombies it had turned humans into and thus might pose a real threat to even highly capable jujutsu sorcerers. But there was no trace of that when Yuuji, Nobara, and Megumi approached the warehouse. The gates were wide open, the area deserted. Worse yet, blood splatters and limbs decorated the ground like a sick joke. The stench of blood and dead was predominant in the air, the silence eerily heavy. What had happened here?Standing at the entrance to the warehouse with his friends facing the opposite side, Yuuji squinted into the darkness, trying to make out any shapes inside. The cursed spirit had to be inside. But inside were only more corpses, more limbs, more gore."Ew, it stinks," Nobara complained and wrinkled her nose, suppressing a cough. Whatever they had been chasing seemed to be long gone."Someone's inside," Yuuji suddenly said. His eyes adjusting to the changed lighting inside, he could barely make out the figure at the end of the warehouse, simply standing there. A shirt that had once been white, dark trousers, motionless."The curse?" Nobara asked, but Yuuji shook his head. He beckoned his friends to follow and entered, careful where he placed his feet and also not to avert his eyes from the only standing figure in the entire area. From up closer Yuuji could see that the person had chainsaws in his arms, and his head was that of a curse … probably.Anyway, it wasn't the curse they had come here for. In fact, the corpse of the cursed spirit was severed in proximity, cleanly dealt with. From the state of things, the … chainsaw man standing here had to be the one who had done all of this."What are you …?" Nobara approached and poked the body with the end of her hammer, ready to jump back out of reach if the person moved. When the chainsaw man lifted his head at the touch, Megumi and Yuuji immediately readied their hands to use their cursed technique, but all the chainsaw man did was say: "Hug me.""Uh …" Nobara exchanged a glance with the others, unsure what to do. She felt like the situation she was in was as dangerous as the stench of death was thick in the air. But the chainsaw man did nothing else but sway back and forth and Nobara was backed up by her friends, so in the end she said: "Okay?"As if relieved at that, the chainsaw man sank forward and fell against Nobara who caught him with a little scream, fully ready to kick-drop the guy to the ground and end him if it turned out to be an attack. However, the demonic features of said guy melted away in some sort of goo and revealed a pale, blond guy underneath all that.that was, until Fushiguro and Itadori joined them with food for the three of them as well. According to them, the udon wasn't as half as good as Denji believed, but they promised that once they were back in Tokyo, they'd take him to a place that had "real good food, you'll see".Denji wondered if it was going to count as date if only he and Kugisaki went.-x-x-x-x"Hey Nanami." Before they got back into the car, Denji - now fully satisfied and feeling like a human again - had another question to the jujutsu sorcerer, who had been waiting for everyone to finish, leaned against the car with phone in hands."Yes?""Can I say No?" Denji asked. He was referring to their previous conversation, with fresh mind and new strength to sort through his thoughts. Denji understood from Nanami's previous monologue that in the best case, he'd be working for the jujutsu people, which shouldn't be all too different from working for the Yakuza. Hunting devils, gutting them, getting paid too little to live off it.In the worst case, those jujutsu guys would kill him. The Yakuza had threatened Denji with that many times, so Denji was not too worried about that anyhow."The jujutsu society is idiotic," Nanami said and for the first time since their first exchange, his mouth became thin-lipped and showed his irritation. "But because it's shit and the alternatives, that is either starving outside or being killed on the run from the hunters, are shit too. I suggest you go with the lesser evil.""You don't get paid for the job though.""Not as a student."Denji kicked away a pebble under his feet and looked over his shoulder to the other car, where the trio was retaking their seats loudly, fighting over who had to sit in the middle and be "burgered" between the other two. Denji'd never had friends and doubted that would change any time soon. But well …"Okay. Then let's go."From the door, a new breathless sound drew everybody's attention - somebody started laughing. The person, a boy with platinum blond hair in what seemed to be the school uniform, was doubled over with his arms slung around his middle, his laughter a hicc-up that sent shivers through his entire body. He was laughing so hard that he lacked the air to breathe or talk. Judging from glasses-girl and the panda's reaction, now both looking hurt for some reason, they knew this guy."Okay cool, seems we're all together now," Gojo said with a clap into his hands. And as if the panda hadn't just demolished half of Denji's precious new room, the teacher started talking way too loudly now: "It's time to introduce you all! Yay! I know from previous occasions that you're not the people that loooove to get excited, but trust me, we have all reason to! I want to officially announce-""I wanna know what's so funny, Toge," glasses-girl interrupted the teacher, and Gojo's mouth snapped shut into a thin line. He went as far as to sink his head and shoulders in obvious disappointment."Tuna," the newcomer said with waving hands, and to Denji's growing confusion, this Toge guy started gesturing with occasional words that made no sense, showing stuff like an "ok" hand and ending with "salmon"?"I believe Inumaki finds it funny that we had a similar situation with Yuuta," the panda said, and glasses-girl tsk-ed."Well, it's this guy's fault that he went screaming about Panda. Rude." And Denji earned another glare that glasses-girl seemed to wear as naturally as the glasses on her nose. Damn."It's not my fault!" he retorted."Yes, it is," glasses-girl insisted."Iffff you'll allow me to explain?" Gojo said again. This time, four pairs of eyes turned to watch him, and Gojo was finally able to introduce them to each other properly, without interruptions. It turned out that the trio present were three out of four second-years of Jujutsu High, and that they would be accompanying Denji to a mission out of town today."I want Maki and Panda on one team," Gojo said, two pointing fingers directly at glasses-girl and Panda, "and Toge and Denji on the other. No further questions? Great." And with that, he turned to leave, ignoring Maki's immediate protests. Instead, Gojo slung an arm around surprised Inumaki's shoulders, who was still standing in the door, and pulled him along with himself, away from the group, where Maki tried to follow them outside but was held back by Panda's "so Gojo didn't warn you about anything either, Denji?""Of course he didn't!" Maki complained and turned back exasperatedly."What does she mean, 'of course'?" Gojo murmured to no one in particular, and Inumaki darkly said with a glance up to his teacher: "Bonito flakes.""No, don't give me that. I always take good care of my students."Gojo pulled Inumaki back outside the dormitories into fresh air before he let go but didn't step away. Here, the birds were chirping loudly, and the day promised to be a good one. Hopefully it would stay that way.No promises."Inumaki, you've felt Denji's cursed energy, right?" Gojo asked with changed tone and a look back to where quarrelling voices were heard even through a closed door."Salmon." Inumaki rubbed the sides of his arms. Despite the weather, he felt cold."Well, then you know that the higher-ups aren't exactly happy with keeping Denji alive." Now, Gojo lowered his voice to a whisper even though he knew that nobody was eavesdropping on them. "I have a favour to ask of you," he said. He's going to murder someone innocent at the first opportunity given. And that will prove us right, the higher-up's words rang in Gojo's ear."What's your name?" he asked, dying of embarrassment that this was the third time he didn't look his best in front of a beautiful woman."Makima," the woman said."Are you … from Jujutsu High?""No. I'm a devil hunter." Taking the last soul from Denji's hand, Makima looked up and established eye contact with Denji. Denji felt like his guts were turned over in a roller coaster twice, and he dropped his eyes to her chest, focusing on the black tie against it instead. It looked good. She looked good."Don't you want to be a devil hunter too?" she asked."Hhhhheeee … lllp … mmeeeeee" the last transfigured soul in her hand groaned. She squeezed, and the soul shut up."Well uuuh …" Denji looked over to Gojo, who watched their exchange without saying anything. That's why Denji missed how Makima suddenly leaned forward into his private space and lowered her voice to a mysterious whisper."You can be my dog," Makima said as if she was sharing a secret. Denji stiffened, but Makima had already straightened up again, hands joined behind her back again, smile unchanged. "Consider it. I'm going to treat you better than the jujutsu society."And then she left.Denji stared after her and he could've sworn that she disappeared into nothingness, replaced by a swarm of rats, but maybe he was just too tired to see properly.Gojo's voice brought him back to earth."What happened in the hospital?" Gojo asked and stood up from where he had checked Toge's pulse. If he noticed the two paper rolls sticking out of Toge's pockets, he didn't mention them (in truth, Denji just hadn't wanted to make the magazines dirty, so Toge held onto them for the moment)."I remember you," Sukuna said and rose from his throne of skulls. One step, and he stood at the body in the pool of blood and looked down at the creatures at his feet. One frail boy and one putrid dog. From up this close, Sukuna almost couldn't feel the danger come from the dog anymore.Almost."You were the ultimate de
