When strylander makes his mechanic and takes on the black mage in a full resistance party, his battle mage companion fails to protect the party from the black mage's curse. As a result, the party suffers a devastating defeat where all his friends are animals thus losing their abilities to cast spells properly while remaining able to speak. But because strylander happened to be aided by a mecha suit, he now is the sole party's hope to fight the first adversary in a crucial fight where if he manages to win, using the esence of the first adversary he can return himself and his fellow resistance allies back to their former human selves.
